This is a section of a recording i did when a school nearby had a field day. There's a decent part in the middle, where the wind sound is practically gone. I used some filters to take out the wind sound as much as possible, but the high end whistling of the wind is still a bit audible. Feel free to use this in anything!.

An almost similar snare sound to that of idioteque in radiohead's 2000 album kid a. Though it is meant for experimental style, i think it would work with any form of electronic music. It was created by resonating noise from audacity, filtering it, fading it out, stretching it and compressing it. It has a characteristic sustain to it. I created this sound to add to the freesound. Org library of sound, because, to obtain use on a sound here, one of the stipulations was that i had to add a sound here at freesound. Org. My senses have always naturally been fine tuned to appreciate the subtle cues in sounds, although, as an artist, i am more drawn to create music or visual art, rather than sounds, but i gave it my best try here. This is a sound i have been doing for years, since a very young child actually. Basically the sound is achieved by making three sounds with my mouth. . . 1. Sucking my lips together, and then opening my mouth, 2. Bringing lips back together and forcing air out 3. And then the sound of my tongue pressed just under my front teeth, and flicking my tongue down. I do this very fast. Enjoy!.

Sound is a short clip from a microcassette field recording of my next-door neighbors talking outside. It has a seemingly young girl exclaiming "he looks like a damn prick!" and then some other things i don't remember or couldn't discern. I have no idea what they were talking about. . .

It's a pretty long sound you can cut it and get the parts you need from it, it just basically 2 drivers fighting while a kid cries sometimes in the background. I recorded it with a friend of mine in a car drifting and my other friends were standing outside yelling at us on purpose.

I went out back to record the robin and also noticed a smaller pileated woodpecker right over on the wood pile. Listen hard and you'll hear it peck the wood. That's the first sound you hear along with the robin and my neighbors kids. Recorded on my yamaha pocketrak and edited on sony vegas with two track duplications. At first, the cars pass through in front of the school. And then, the people were talking around and pass by us when we went through the school-yard. We walked up the stairs and pass through the playground, we heard children playing basketball. We heard the balls hit the ground and the children screaming and shouting. Beside that, there was a sound of repairing near the terrace. At the end, we arrived canteen and we heard the students talking.

This is the same sound i recorded 6 years ago, back than i had just a very crappy microphone through my cellphone. Last year i bought an ipad, and i installed hokusai audio editor. This gave me a better way to record in higher quality. Still mono though, but it has less audio artifacts. This alarm is tested once every 3 months all over the swedish towns.

About 100 adults and 3 kids made paper airplanes then flew them in an informal indoor competition. Sounds of the crowd reacting to the different flights as planes flew off in all directions, hitting the ceiling, the floor, the audience. Announcer in the bkgd. Children approaching the 'launchpad' then the crowd reacting to their winning throw. After the kids' throw, the sound of another competitor's plane hitting the ceiling/floor (?) and then his comment "too much thrust. " a kid saying to an adult, possibly her mom (?), "please don't succeed" as the woman approached the launchpad to throw her plane.

I noticed there were no dry ice on oven rack sounds here so here is a recording of dry ice interacting with a steel oven rack. As the dry ice melts it creates vibrations on the metal that evolve as the material travels across the surface. It is an awful sound resembling a combination of saxophone, violin, bagpipe and screaming (any species). This was recorded on halloween 2018. It was a tradition in my family when i was a kid to get some dry ice on halloween and fill beakers with colored water to surround the candy display. The addition of dry ice on oven rack sound effects developed later and truly scared a lot of kids because it is so loud and terrible. These days we make some dry ice kief as well which makes the holiday even more festive and weird.

Pistol fired outdoors with ricochet. Single shot, fairly close, with fast fadeout. Narrow stereo image, no panning, almost monophonic. Wholly synthesized. No weapon was fired in the making of this sound. It's an emulated sound effect of a sidearm gunshot with a cliche ricochet sound, like in the vintage western movies and ww2 films that they showed on tv when i was a kid. Can be used in a game, perhaps, or a none-too-serious vidclip. The sound of the pistol cartridge explosion is default flstudio kick, clap and snare slowed right down. A single tap of delay is added to lend an impression of echo off a middle distance hard surface. The ricochet noise was made with sytrus running as a vsti inside flstudio. It took an entire day of head scratching, oscillator tweaking and envelope mangling to get something that reasonably resembles a sound that i recall from the old movies. I think i'll shoot myself before i try something like this again. :). Plus the usual flstudio compressors, eq, reverb and delay - nothing tricky, just standard stuff.

One of my favorite summer and late-summer sounds. The night-hawk is the star of this recording. This recording was made around 9pm at night in mid-august and, even though i never could see this nighthawk, his calls pierced through the night-sky to let me know he was up there, somewhere, orbiting on the prowl for mosquitos and other insects. I have always loved this sound ever since i was a kid and going to sleep at night i felt comforted knowing that, like some circling fighter jet, the nighthawks would be on the job, plowing down the population of mosquitos, while i slept all night. Recording actually made in the parking lot of a major midwest university around 9pm at night on august 19th, 2014. Equipment: marantz pmd661 modified by oade brothers electronics, beyerdynamic me58 microphone. My record volume was 7.

An enjoyable, reflective soundscape of kids playing and swinging and laughing in a park in a small, midwestern usa town. This was recorded at 1:30 in the afternoon on a beautiful, mild november day in 2020. Very pleasing to listen to, and probably helps to bring back memories of your own, warm childhood memories. Even though covid-19 is causing a huge problem all over the world, i find it very soothing and comforting knowing, despite the pandemic, kids are still doing what they've been doing since, well, forever, playing and laughing and having the care-free fun time of their life.
